Welcome to your support page for planning processes 🙂

*There is no “one size fits all” approach to planning, but your planning should incorporate the pedagogy cycle below.*

As a suggestion we have developed a process map for the different aspects of planning and documentation that you may consider in your approach.

Our rationale is to support you to develop a planning format that is bespoke to your individual context. We aim to support you in developing:

  • A process which is led with children at the centre and the forefront.
  • Planning for a holistic curriculum that realises the articles of the UNCRC for all, acknowledging the children’s right to an education and viewing them as active agents in the process.
  • Planning for a curriculum that takes into account the social and cultural capital of the communities that it serves – actively linking children to their local and wider worlds around them.
  • A curriculum that values metacognition and meta-skills, that will allow children to test and explore the world around them and transfer what they have learnt from one context to another.
