ASG – Authority Screening Group. Multi-agency group that uses a solution-orientated approach to support establishments to achieve better outcomes for young people.
ASL – Additional Support for Learning
ASL TAC Meeting – Additional Support for Learning Team Around the Child Meeting. This meeting carefully considers multi-agency assessments and an action plan will be discussed. If a placement is agreed, a well-planned transition process will follow.
ASN – Additional Support Needs
CA – Classroom Assistant
CAMHS – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. CAMHS are specialist NHS services. They offer assessment and treatment when children and young people have emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties (Link – Young Minds – What is CAMHS?)

GIRFEC – Getting it Right for Every Child. GIRFEC is the national approach in Scotland to improving outcomes and supporting the wellbeing of our children and young people by offering the right help at the right time from the right people. It supports them and their parent(s) to work in partnership with the services that can help them (Scottish Government, 2016).
