9th Hayley’s Literacy Activity

Hi boys and girls here is a literacy and numeracy activity, watch my big girl in the video, you need to find the letter or the number in the salt or sugar with your paint brush.  Challenge yourself by saying the letter and saying a word that starts with that letter.  Go even further by trying to find an item around your house that starts with that letter.  With the numbers challenge yourself by trying higher numbers or even adding two together, have fun let me see pictures x

See my sway today for an example and the pics below…

9th Hayley’s numeracy activity

What Sinks around Here? Use a deep puddle or a bowl with water in it. Gather items from the outdoors such as leaves, pinecones, and rocks. Test each one and make a simple chart of what floats and what does not. The chart can be drawings of each of the items or pictures you take and print out. This supports development of early science skills like observation, data collection, and interpretation. Also find a nothing else that you think might float around outside or inside you house (if your mum’s and dad’s let you) have fun love Hayley x

9th Karen’s Science Activity

Morning boys and girls, Hannah & I have been busy doing some more science things, so we took a wee video again

Mento & Cola Science Activity

This is a messy but fun activity so probably best to take it outside into the garden!!!

Science behind it……..

As the mento sweets sink in the bottle, the sweets cause the production of more and more carbon dioxide bubbles, and the rising bubbles react with carbon dioxide that is still dissolved in the cola to cause more carbon dioxide to be freed and create even more bubbles, resulting in the eruption. Have fun – Love Karen x

2️⃣ Roll it: Child rolls the dice and counts the spots/tried to remember what that number was without counting or count them if need be.

3️⃣ Dot it: Use the pen to draw the correct number of dots on a bit of paper and sit the bit of paper in that column.

4️⃣ Make it: Use anything you have as a counter to count out the correct number and place in the column.

5️⃣ Eat it!! When you have counted the correct number of Cheerios… eat them!!!!
