P3b Monday 7th December

Dear class, I hope you are all well and have enjoyed a safe and happy weekend. It is going to be very strange today for me to be in class without seeing and working with all of you.

In the meantime, I want you to keep learning and you can show your parents how clever you are by completing the work you would usually do in class but at home. Your completed work should be sent to me via email and Mrs Wilson will share my email with your parents, where I will mark your work and give you feedback as usual. I am so looking forward to receiving your work and hearing how you are getting on. If you need me for anything you are welcome to send me an email and I will also be in school all week so I am available for contact via the school office.

Right P3, we can do this! With warmest regards, have a happy day!

Miss Barrett.

p.s we will catch up on the calendar when we are back and will keep you updated with the antics of Buddy the Elf.

Look out for photographs.

Primary 1 Monday 7th December, 2020

Good morning everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend and managed to get out for some fresh air.  We are all looking forward to your return to school this week and I’m sure you’re looking forward to seeing each other.

Here are your tasks for today.

Usually on a Monday we talk about what we have been doing over the weekend.  Today I would like you to write me some lovely news instead.  Remember to use capital letters, full stops and finger spaces in your writing.  You should be able to spell some common words correctly and have a go at sounding out others.  Take care with letter formations and read over your news to make sure it makes sense.

spelling words – we,  into,  go,  got – practice the words using some of the activities from the Active Literacy homework booklet

I have put some other tasks on the Education City for you today in the red car. Try to complete at least two tasks.  You can use buttons, pasta etc. to help you count in the maths task and also try the quiz below.

Monday is P.E. day.  Go out into the garden to complete your daily mile.  Practice bouncing and catching a ball or go for a nice walk.  You could look for something interesting to show in class on your return.

Have a lovely day everyone.  Enjoy your tasks and work hard!

Primary 1 4th December, 2020

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you are all having a lovely day.

Spelling – ask an adult to read the following words to you.  Try to sound them out as you write them down.

go   got   can   into   we   he   did   as   my   me

Log on to Busy Things today (username – dunlopteacher, Password – Dunlop 2020).  Click Upper Primary 1, Lang:Literacy  & English, Phonics Programme, Phases 2,3&4, Blending & Segmenting, Sound Bites.  This game reinforces sounds covered so far.

Check in to Giglets & My Maths for activities to complete.

Earlier this term we all took time in our classes to talk about Bullying (some of you watched the ‘Big Anti-bullying Assembly’
too), how it affects children and what we can do to prevent bullying in our school. With your help we want to make sure that
everyone in Dunlop Primary & ECC knows what bullying is, what to do if they experience bullying and how we can stand up to
bullies, ensuring that our school continues to be a safe and happy place for us all.
To help promote this across the school we are asking you to be very creative and design a colourful, eye-catching school
anti-bullying logo/badge with a slogan that everyone from the ECC to P7 will understand and recognise. The winning logo and
slogan will then be made into posters and displayed across the school.
There will be a prize for the best entry in each class and for the overall school winner-good luck!
Remember to write your name and class on the back of your sheet and return it by Friday 11th December.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  Thank you for all your hard work this week!
