Today we were learning some new common words! We then had to play pairs to find matching common words, complete laminated letters to practice our formation and reading rainbows to practice reading our common words!

The children have been working very hard as always during their time away from school. Here are some examples of wonderful work as well as some of the things they have been upto.
George
George and his family looked after caterpillars until they turned into butterflies.
Hazen
Hazen has been busy enjoying the sunshine with family. He decided to do his work first thing so that he could enojy the rest of the day in the garden.
Jaxon
Jaxon has also been enjoying the sun after completing his work.
Josh
Josh continues to power on with his work and is producing amazing sentences! I can tell he is trying to use his sounds.

I am very sorry, this post should have went up on Friday! Yet another week of home learning completed and another week closer to seeing everyone again.
Firstly, the new pupil council members for this class are Isla Patterson and Jaxon McGregor. This was Jaxon when he recieved the news from his mum:
Now here are some wonderful pieces of work sent in;
Addition
The children were asked to complete the missing numbers sums using the number line to help them.
4
Here are some examples completed by Josh and Hazen. They completed this with no problems at all!
Word Lists
The children are read a word from their word list and they have to write it down, using their knowledge of sounds to chop up the word.
Jaxon and Josh did this really well!
Comprehension
The children were given a link to a scene from Cinderella where she sings “A Dream is a wish you heart makes” and were also given the song lyrics. They had to answer five questions about this scene/lyrics.
This is Jaxon carefull watching the video and listening to the song so that he could answer the questions.
Pattern
Everyone was given a blank patterns sheet and asked to create their own patterns.
4
Jaxon, Hazen and Josh created fantastic patterns!
Writing
Each week, I provide a picture stimulus and ask for at least 4 sentences. I am looking for full stops, capital letters and to see the children having a go at their words themselves.
I think their sentences are wonderful! Well done Josh and Hazen!
Sound hunt
The children were given sounds and asked to find objects and words with that sound in it.
Good effort Josh!
Numbers to 20
This worksheet asked for one before and one after with numbers up to 20.
Good job Josh, Hazen and Jaxon!
Shape
The children had to identify which 3d shape each object was.
Handwriting
Handwriting continues to improve which will helps them in P2.
Grammar
The children had to rewrite the sentences putting in a capital letter and full stop where necessary.
Data Handling
They had to count each object and put the information into a bar graph.
Time
For todays time task, they had to put the months of the year into the correct order.
Common Words
For each word, they had to practice is and write a sentence. They were also asked to keep practicing all the words they have learned so far.
Outdoor challenge
Every Friday, I set the children a maths challenge. Today was a series of outdoor challenges they could do during a walk/cycle. Jaxon sent in lots of pictures of what he completed.
