P7 Leaver’s Hoodies

The Primary 7s have received their Leaver’s Hoodies and are as proud as can be with them.  Similarly we are as proud as can be with the Primary 7s.

Remembrance

Again our pupils have demonstrated that they have great respect and honour the memory of our veterans.   A very informative assembly was delivered by P5-6 followed by a short service conducted by Rev. Hendrie with the pupils laying a wreath at the village memorial.  The school held a two minutes silence at 11:00 on Armistice Day, 11th November.

Ayrshire Cross Country

Pupils from P6 and P7 took part in the Cross Country Event at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena in Kilmarnock.  All pupils managed to successfully complete their races.  There were lots of happy but tired pupils on the bus on the way home.  The pupils were positively effervescent with enthusiasm upon their return, telling every adult they came across in the dinner hall of their achievements.  Well done, great ambassadors for the school.

Harvest time at Dalrymple Primary.

Primary 1 collected apples from the school orchard. They were washed, chopped, mashed up and squeezed to make apple juice. It tasted delicious.

International Walk to School Month

October is International Walk to School Month and as such we would encourage all children to walk or cycle to school.  It increases both fitness and feel good levels.  Go on, give it a go!

Math week

The children have been very busy in the ECC this week with lots of math’s experiences to explore. We have learned that some shapes are 3 dimensional and some are only 2 dimensional. We have been exploring numbers, counting, measuring as well as learning some new mathematical language.

PATHS Project

As part of the P6/7 PATHS curriculum, the class had to decide on what they wanted to do to make a difference in the school. They decided they were going to take over lunch bin hall duties and wanted to create an informative video explaining the ways we can protect the environment. The pupils planned and wrote the scripts, videoed the scene and edited them together. Here is the final video; we hope you enjoy it!

Coffee Morning for Ayrshire Cancer Support

On Friday 17th March, we held a coffee morning to raise money for Ayrshire Cancer Support. There was a selection of home baking, tea or coffee as well performances from the nursery, p4/5 and p6/7. We greatly appreciate all donations of baking and prizes that were handed in by family members and the community. Today, at assembly, a representative from Ayrshire cancer support visited to collected the check with our donation. Thanks to those that attended and bought raffle tickets; we managed to raise an amazing £395!
