“Falling” in love

Water is a motif which is seen throughout the film Romeo and Juliet. The two young lovers first meet at a masked ball by spying one another through a fish tank. Later they fall into a pool together. This video clip shows the amount of work which went in to the preparation for this scene. The scene itself is fairly brief, but memorable.

What might water mean?

What camera angles and movements made it on to the big screen after all the filming?

What meanings do these angles/movements convey to the audience?
