Last session we were awarded Bronze in the Rights Respecting Schools Award. We are working towards our Silver award. In term 2, we set up a Rights Respecting School Committee which is made up of pupils from P1 to P7, both mainstream and Centre.
Our aim is to ensure that our school continues on the journey of Rights Respecting, that our RRS ethos improves the wellbeing of every child in our school as well as helping them be the best they can be and achieve their potential. The Committee have been extremely busy this term: they have charters for communal areas around the school, they have made Rights posters and displayed around relevant points within the school and helped plan activities for national celebrated days to give peers an opportunity to learn about children’s rights.
The RRS group have been working hard to prepare for their Silver inspection. The link below demonstrates some of this preparation work they have been doing.
On Tuesday 7th May the RRS group had their meeting to present their evidence for the Silver Award. After going through all the criteria, Crosshouse Primary School & Communication Centre was given the Silver Award!
