Tweet Premiere

What an amazing day we had at our Tweet Premiere. The hall was beautifully decorated with our  flight themed decorations and we even had a photo wall and special celebration cake. We were blown away by both movies and can’t wait to share them with you later this week.

We also had a special presentation when we received certificates as well as our very own WAL (winning at life) jackets, complete with the dance-tronaut logo.

The after party in class was full of fun, photos, cake and dancing.

We had the best time. Check it out below.

Tweet Film Project Premiere

This Wednesday (24th November) is the premiere of our Tweet Film Project. To celebrate this special day we will be having a  screening in the afternoon as well as fun activities in class.

As a class we have decided that we are going to dress in our own clothes for the day instead of school uniform. This can be casual or party clothes – as long as they are warm as it might be a cold day!

We cannot wait to be able to share our films with you soon.

From P5/6.

Big Talk Homework

Pupils have been issued with their first ‘Big Talk’ homework of the session.  The assessment criteria for the personal presentations can  be found below along with a copy of the homework. These will help pupils and parents/carers to know what is expected at each level.  Copies of both can be found below.

Title:  My Favourite Film or Book

You have been given a project to prepare and present a short 5 minute talk about your favourite film or book.  The presentation should be as detailed as possible and should include information about the genre, characters, setting and plot.  You could also include your favourite parts and the reasons why you like them, or ways you think the author or director could have made them even better. You could also use other ideas to enhance your talk e.g. PowerPoint (saved on GLOW or pen-drive), drawings, diagrams or items from home.

You should practise your talk at home as often as possible and use a timer to help. You may want to use notes or prompt cards to help you stay on track.

All talks will be assessed using the school’s Talking & Listening criteria, which is also available on Glow.

Talks should be ready to be present the week beginning Monday 29th November

Weekly Round-Up

This week we had fun doing our literacy work. We also went outside for maths and we played fun addition games. We learned a new maths strategy.

We made bonfire night pictures and played basketball in PE.

Art-tastic

We created 3D models of a bird cage. We then created our own colourful parrots to go inside the cage. They are just like the parrot from Matilda. We enjoyed this chapter because Matilda pranked her parents by stuffing a parrot up the chimney and they thought it was a ghost they heard talking!

Check out our parrots.
