Weekly Round-Up

We have had a fun filled week of activities for Health Week.

We had great fun on our school trip to Kelburn.

We have also been learning to tell the time on analogue and digital clocks.

It’s hard to believe that next week is our last full week of the school year!

School Trip

The sun was shining for our whole school trip to Kelburn yesterday! Primary 2 had a great time playing in the Saloon, seeing the colourful castle, eating their lunch outside, seeing the animals and having fun on the adventure course. It was a fantastic trip!

Weekly Round-Up

A massive well done to Primary 2 for their fantastic class talks this week. I know some of you were feeling very nervous about talking in front of the class, but you did a great job and should be very proud of yourselves. I loved hearing about what you all want to be when you grow up!

In maths this week we have been learning to tell the time using o’clock and half past on an analogue clock.

We completed our football training with Kilmarnock Football Club and have been practising our races for sports day next Friday.

We had a special visit from Auchinleck Talbot player Craig McCracken with the Scottish Junior Cup!

We have also shown lots of imagination and creativity during our play activities outside and in the classroom.

Class Talk Reminder: When I grow up, I would like to be…’

Below are the details of when your child will present their talk. Remember they may bring in a picture/drawing/poster about their chosen job on their specific day.  I am really looking forward to hearing about what they would like to be!

Weekly Round-Up

It has been a busy week of learning in Primary 2!

We have been enjoying our football training sessions with Kilmarnock Football Club.

We had hoped to go to the park on Tuesday however we got caught in a big shower of rain and had to change our plans. We went to the cage and then for a lovely walk back to the school.

It was our ‘World of Work’ day on Wednesday. We talked about lots of different careers and the jobs that the children would like to do when they are older. Have a look!

We have been learning to identify and order the days of the week and months of the year as part of our time work in maths. We have even been learning to use British Sign Language to sign the days of the week.

We have also had fun writing, building, working together as a team, drawing and creating!

We are looking forward to celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with lots of fun activities next week.

Homework

Primary 2 are starting to learn about time in class and the numeracy homework task for this week is all about knowing the days of the week and sequencing chronological events.

Weekly Round-Up

Here’s a round-up of our week in Primary 2……….

We have had great fun taking part in ‘Walk to School Week’ this week, particularly Wild Wednesday. Check out our wild and crazy hairstyles!

It stayed dry for our walk around the village this week.

We have been continuing to learn about halves and quarters in maths. We enjoyed using (and eating) Smarties to find a quarter of a quantity!

We worked together as a team to make this HUGE cube structure.

We have also been writing book reviews in literacy, learning about places of worship in R.E. and learning how to draw the solar system as part of our ‘Space’ topic.
