We have had another busy week in P2. It’s hard to believe that we only have one more week left of term 3!
This week we had a great afternoon playing in the sunshine at the park. We had fun playing on the swings, chute, roundabout, seesaw and climbing frame. Gracie-Leigh also found a beautiful ladybird!
We have been learning about how paramedics help us as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic.
We have also been learning how to divide by sharing and grouping in maths.
We had lots of fun playing ‘popcorn’ with the parachute in P.E.
Here’s a wee look at all the other things we have been getting up to…
There will be no homework issued next week as it is the last week of term before we finish for the Easter holidays. Please ensure that all book bags are returned on Monday.
Thank you.
Primary 2 have been learning about money with Miss Murdoch, so the numeracy homework for this week is all about recognising and knowing the value of coins to 20p. This task involves making a shop with items to sell at home.

We have had lots of fun learning in P2 this week!
We enjoyed working together and using our imaginations to build interesting things with the loose parts outdoors. We also found lots of worms!
We have been learning about how firefighters help us as part of our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic. We wrote about what firefighters do to help us and designed our own fire engines.
We have also been learning about 2D and 3D shapes in maths and have been creative building with the new blocks bought for our class.
We have also been talking about our school value ‘Respect’ and what it means to us.
We celebrated Red Nose Day by dressing down and designing our own red noses.
Pupils have been issued with a new reading book in their book bags this week as well as a common words grids. These are words that your child needs to work on and each child has a set of words personal to them. It would be great if you could help them practise reading and writing each of the words on their grid at home. When they can do this confidently they will be given a new set of words.
Thank you for your support.

This week Primary 2 have had fun playing outside in the sunshine!
We have been counting and multiplying in maths, writing about our special gifts in literacy, working together to complete a jigsaw and being creative during activity time.
We enjoyed listening to the story ‘Marmalade the Orange Panda’ by David Walliams. Ashton kindly brought the book in for us to read and it was a lovely story!
We enjoyed playing parachute games and practising skipping skills in the gym hall.
This week the numeracy homework involves solving word problems involving addition, doubling, days in a week and counting in 2’s. We have been doing lot of this in class!

Have fun!
On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. We read favourite books that some of us had brought from home. We talked about who we liked to share books with and drew pictures to show us reading our favourite book together. In the afternoon Primary 6/7 came to our class to read with us. We loved listening to their stories and then they stayed to play with us a while! Primary 6 and 7 have also recorded books for us to enjoy on the iPads.
On Friday we had great fun outside. We used our imagination to build a pirate ship, created a jail in our new den and worked together with the P3’s to design a ball run using guttering.
