A wide range of Mathematics courses are offered within the department. 

Curriculum for Excellence courses from Levels 1 to 4 are delivered to pupils in S1 and S2.  Standard Grade and Access courses are offered to pupils in S3 and S4.  Pupils staying for S5 and S6 can opt for Intermediate 1 and 2, Higher and Advanced Higher Mathematics.  For the past 2 years, the department has delivered a Money Management course as part of the school’s Pathways to Employment initiative.

Pupils will experience a wide range of learning opportunities throughout their time in the Mathematics department.  Pupils will develop their investigative skills, gain confidence at delivering presentations of their work and experience group work. Pupils will understand the relevance of Mathematics to their everyday lives through projects, research and whole class discussions.

 

We are proud of our strong links with our cluster primaries which have enabled us to provide pupils with a smooth transition between primary and secondary schools.  The Maths/Numeracy Learning Partnership group contains staff from the Mathematics department as well as from all associated primary schools.
