Our Special Visitor

As part of our Scottish Parliament topic pupils have been learning about devolved and reserved matters, the role of MSP’s and the laws most recently passed in Scotland. Primary 6 were very lucky to spend an afternoon with Sam’s Gran who used to work for the Scottish Government. Mary’s passion for improving the lives of Scottish people came across very strong as she explained how she fought hard for the smoking ban which was eventually passed in 2005. Pupils wrote open ended questions and were excited to interview Mary.   We certainly learned a lot about her career and the importance of campaigning for issues that you feel strongly about. A huge thank you for coming from Edinburgh to share your experiences.
