We were lucky enough to receive 30 Microbits from Digital Xtra Fund. P6N have been learning how to use them and have had fun experimenting with them.  Today we linked our coding to our climate change topic and designed LED fishing nets that would prevent ‘bycatch’.   We had to code our Microbits to be sensitive to light and on,y switch on when it became dark.

Problem Solving P6 i/s

How many children can you fit on a rectangle of floor space?

What way should they face? Do you start with biggest feet first, or the smallest?

These are questions our intrepid problem solvers had to answer as they undertook the challenge this morning.

Did they manage to fit 24 children in one rectangle of space? See for yourself.

John Muir Award

Lorna Sloan (John Muir Trust) met with P6 to launch the start of the John Muir  Award. It was a fun morning of exploring the local green space near the school by completing nature scavenger hunts and games. Lots of learning and appreciation of nature took place.
We are excited to do more exploring and to look at ways to improve our outdoor environment.
