Thursday 25th January – Big School Bird Watch

If any children have toy binoculars they are welcome to bring them in for our Big School Bird Watch (please do not purchase).

Thursday 1st February – Campfire, songs, den building and stories.

We know not everyone reads our blog so please pass on the word, we don’t want any chilly children!

Thank you, P2 teachers 🙂

Burns Poetry Competition

Your child will be coming home soon, with a short Scottish poem to learn as part of Onthank Primary Burn’s Competition this year. If you could help your child learn this off by heart, they will present it to the class as part of their Literacy Curriculum. “I can communicate clearly when engaging with others within my place of learning, using selected resources.” The children will perform their chosen poem to their class at the beginning of February.

OUTDOOR LEARNING

Little School Children Studying At Park

Every Thursday from January 19th next week, all Primary 2 pupils will be taking their learning outdoors!

No matter the weather!

Please can you send your child to school with appropriate clothing and footwear depending on the weather. A waterproof coat will be needed too. A change of shoes or wellies if it is especially wet would also be helpful.

School jumpers must be worn

However, joggies, leggings or any comfortable, suitable bottoms would be acceptable. If you have any difficulties proving wellies, then the school do have a limited amount in a variety of sizes. If you could please let your child’s teacher know, then we will try to find a suitable pair of wellies for them to use during the day.
