We have a new spelling grid for you this week. It is similar to the last one, but it has different activities for you to try.

As before, choose 2 activities from the grid for your homework. You may repeat an activity in the following weeks if there is one you particularly like.

Our new topic is Scottish Islands. We have been looking at the differences between the islands and the mainland. We have each designed an island on a map but in a couple of weeks we will be making a 3D model of our islands. For this we are asking for your help. If you have any cardboard (roughly shoe box or cereal box size) we would really appreciate this as we will use this for the base of our model.

We have been learning about money in class. We know the British coins and notes.

If you have coins at home you could do some coin rubbings.

You could look at the dates on the coins and write down the oldest one you can find.

On Friday it is Valentines Day. This is a day when we let people we love know we care for them and do kind things for them.

Have a look through this Kindness Chart and see what kind things you could do for the people you love and care for.

We are also starting to look at money this week. If you are helping with the shopping, have a look out for different coins.

If you have a piggy bank – why not have a look and see if you can count up how much money you have.
