Our phoneme this week is the split phoneme: a – e. The e is silent and it makes the vowel says its’ name.
Words to practice are: cake, bake, name, snake, game, plate, gate and sale.
Remember to use our hand tool to help spell these words!
1 – say the word
2 – break it up (how many sounds are in the word, e.g. ball, b-a-ll, 3 sounds)
3 – make it (using spelling letters)
4 – blend it and read it (what are the sounds, blend them together)
5 – write it
Our common words for this week are: make, made, take and gave.
