Part of the Infant Video Toolkit from 2Simple, 2Publish allows young children to create basic documents incorporating images and text.  Good to use as an introduction to both word processing and desktop publishing.

Make Beliefs Comix

Comics can be a fun way to get pupils to present stories and information. This free online creator has lots of pre-drawn characters and backgrounds and makes it easy to create and share your own comic strips.  Find it online at Make Beliefs Comix

tvo kids Super Comic Creator

A fun comic creator with a super hero theme. Children are given a story starter, with a moral dilemma, which they then complete as a comic strip. Wouldn’t be suitable for presenting stories pupils have already written, but would work well as a way of integrating digital literacy in an H&WB lesson.  Find it online at Super Comic Creator

Story Board That

A useful way to create simple comics or storyboards with a good level of user choice in terms of graphics. Also makes it easy to add foreign text characters, so could be useful to integrate digital literacy into a modern languages lesson.
