Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) – The Holywood Trust RSE Talks Programme – All talks are delivered in conjunction with RSE Fellows and other experts affiliated to the RSE @ Schools programme.  If you are interested in having one of the talks detailed in their brochure (Holywood Trust Talks 2018-19) at your school, please contact Kate Kennedy, Outreach Officer, tel +44 (0) 7502 111 610 or email kkennedy@therse.org.uk, to make the arrangements. All RSE School Talks are provided FREE of charge, however, they do ask that a staff member accompanies the pupils at all times and that you complete a feedback form following the activity.

Roald Dahl Champion of the STEM World – links to BGE Science – a very useful planner to help deliver STEM subjects through Literacy.  Developed by Jenny Irving, Primary Science Development Officer, Moray Council.

Teach Computing Science – a guide for Early Years and Primary Practitioners – from Computing at School Scotland, this document is great to dip into if you want to find out more about progression through the core computing science concepts in CfE and practical examples what that looks like at the different levels.

STEM Learning – “Supported by a unique partnership of Government, charitable trusts and employers, we are dedicated to raising young people’s engagement and achievement in STEM subjects and careers.”  As well as provided a wide range of STEM teaching resources, they also have a range of free CPD courses and events, many of which you can access online.    This video will give you and overview of what they do.

MODEL OF CHANGE

Microsoft Educator Community – this is a great starting point for exploring the potential of using O365 to support your teaching.  As well as a forum for other educators to share and collaborate, there is also a wide range of resources available to help you get the most out of O365 in your classroom.  You can even sign up and become part of the Microsoft Innovative Educator programmes.

Google for Education – free training and resources, to help you get to grips with Google tools but also relevant to other areas of digital technology.  This video will give you an overview of the training available.

Digital Learning Community –  A useful forum to support Scottish teachers in delivering Technologies Ex&Os.  The Practice Pipeline section has videos sharing good practice.

Technologies Community (#Technologies) – From Education Scotland, this is an excellent group on Sharepoint which covers all the Technologies organisers.  There is a helpful newsfeed in addition to well organised links to documents, videos, and webpages to support your teaching.

Digital Schools Award Scotland – Digital Schools Awards Scotland is a new national awards programme which aims to promote, recognise and encourage a whole school approach to the use of digital technology in primary and secondary schools.  Schools that successfully complete the programme will receive a nationally recognised Digital Schools Award accredited by Education Scotland.  You can access full details of the Evaluation Criteria here:  Digital Schools Award – Evaluation Guidance
