We are delighted to welcome you to Stranraer Academy. During your visit to our school the information below may help answer any queries. 

 

CHILD PROTECTION CO-ORDINATORS 

Should you need to report any Child Protection concern, please ask at the office to speak to one of our Child Protection Co-ordinators. Please dial 48400 from any Cisco phone and ask to speak to the CPC. 

 

TELEPHONE 

Using any internal ‘Cisco’ telephone, the office can be contacted by dialling 48400. Office staff can assist with any queries, direct your call onwards or contact a Duty Manager should you require support. The external telephone number for the school is 01776 706484. 

 

FIRE ALARM 

Should the fire alarm sound (loud claxon with voice instruction), please follow the exit signs. The muster point for visitors is next to the main bus park on the London Road (south) side of the building. Please make yourself known to a member of staff in high viz.

 

LOCKDOWN 

Should the school bell sound for 5 cycles, the school is in lockdown. A tannoy message will also be announced. You should stay where you are and avoid any movement around the school. The all clear will be signalled by 5 cycles of the school bell followed by a tannoy announcement. 

 

FIRST AID 

Please ask any member of staff if you require assistance including first aid. AED’s (defibrillator’s) are situation in the front foyer, the PE office and at the Stuart Binnie Arena (3G pitch). 

 

REFRESHMENTS 

The school canteen is available for hot drinks/cold drinks/light snacks and hot meals at lunchtime. They accept cash and card/contactless payments. 

 

STAFF TOILETS 

There are male and female toilets situated next to the lift on the first floor and in the staff room on the first floor.
