Hello,
Safer Internet Day 2022 is the 8th February with the theme ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’.
From gaming and chat, to streaming and video, young people are shaping the interactive entertainment spaces they are a part of. Safer Internet Day 2022 celebrates young people’s role in creating a safer internet, whether that is whilst gaming and creating content, or interacting with their friends and peers.
See our very own PC Adair providing up to date information on how families can keep their children safe online.

We are delighted to let you know that our in person primary super 4s after school everts are back for the first time in two years!!!
Super 4s offers P4-7 pupils the opportunity to take part in 4 cross country races at various locations across Nithsdale. Runners of all abilities are encouraged to take part, whether to improve fitness levels, improve performance or simply enjoy themselves. All races are 1 mile (approx) with a shorter course (approx half a mile) for those who are working towards running a full mile.
We have four runs across four locations in Nithsdale (three in Dumfries and one in Thornhill) – full details can be found on the attached flyers and on our actify link where parents/guardians can also register their children.
For more information and to register go to: https://www.actify.org.uk/module/1718
Following the success of our virtual option during last year’s lock down, we also have a programme of virtual runs for nursery pupils up to S3. Runners who are participating in the live super 4s are also welcome to take part in the virtual event. To find out more and to register go to: https://www.actify.org.uk/module/1390
We cannot wait to welcome you all back again!!
Thanks
Nithsdale Active Schools and Community Sport Team

Thank you to the Royal Navy for treating all the young people in S3 to their Come Dine With Me! taster session. It was a fabulous opportunity to hear about the wonderful experiences and opportunities available in the Royal Navy (and taste some cracking food). Here is the link to the recipe they were demonstrating Royal Navy Recipe Why don’t you follow it and treat your family to a Royal Navy inspired meal?

Social enterprises are businesses that are changing the world for the better. They are in our communities and on our high streets already, from coffee shops and cinemas to pubs and leisure centres, banks and bus companies, using their profits to create positive social change.
