HOME LEARNING TASKS
26th, 27th AND 28th of February 2023
Primary 1:
Homework packs sent home early today with instructions inside. Please do what you can.
Letters and Phonics:
- Letters to cut up (green dotted letters have all been done in class except h and d ) Make 3 letter words with the letters from the pack e.g. pat, pit, sip, sat, mat, man etc.
- Practise writing each of the letters correctly- could use paper and pencil, shaving foam, playdough, sand etc.

Number:
- Number booklet to complete.
- Please also practise saying and recognising numbers 1-10.
- The children can also have a go a writing all the numbers to 10.
- practise counting out objects up to 10 (further if you can manage!)
- Match numbers to objects e.g. 5 spoons, 3 forks, etc.
- How can you make 6 with 2 hands ? e.g. 3 fingers on one hand, 3 on the other etc.
- Log into Sumdog- take part in the class challenge and/or play some of the games at your own level. (Ask an adult to read any tricky questions)

Primary 3-7:
Numeracy
- Mental Maths Daily practice- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (please return book on Friday)
- Sumdog- play maths games of your choice- Sumdog sets your own level
- Sumdog- times table challenge- can you get 200 questions correct?!!
- Look for 2D and 3D shapes in and around the house, as well as the garden. Can you draw/photograph as many as you can?
Literacy
- Spelling words- practise daily and complete an activity per day.
- Spelling homework jotter due in Friday as normal
- Reading books- continue reading class book, as well as own reading of their choice.
- Nouns. adjectives and verbs- make up sentences with a noun, adjective and verb in each . You could do 5 noun sentences on Tuesday, 5 adjective on Wednesday and 5 verb on Thursday . Do more if you can manage!

- Can you create a setting (real or imaginary) for a story in school next week? Don’t forget what we wrote about last week and use all of your senses.
