Yesterday we went on a school trip to Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. There were a few 3D movies, one was about aliens and another one! There was a time machine that showed you how the universe started. We had a room with a few tables what would show you stuff about the planet like volcano rocks, a presentation about the stuff, a place were you would put blocks on each other and would vibrate like an earthquake. My favourite part of the day was the time machine. I learned that the earth was made out of rocks forming in the solar system! It was a long journey home!
Today primary 1/2/3 and the gardening group have been sweeping .And we have been picking weeds we don’t need are cleaning the school and its looks better now because of the clean . When we were sweeping it was a bit fun and were picking rubbish and all sorts of things . we were also sweeping sand and putting it in a bag because its nearly the summer holidays .And were picking dead plants and we were putting the water play away to because its nearly the the summer holidays. And were picking plants that we don’t need.
Last Friday someone from the water safety department came in to teach us how to be safe in water ( her name was Anna).
She was very helpful and nice and I 100% know more about water than before. We did many different activities like looking for unsafe things.
In this activity on our tables we had to circle anything that we thought was unsafe. Oh and we had a white board pen to draw the circles.
We also got into pairs to pull the other out of the water using a rope. (It was not real water.
On Tuesday the rising 5’s came to our school and had really great fun. They were there for most of the day and stayed for lunch.
This Tuesday, the school had a visit from the Mountain Rescue Team. Dave Macpheat and Dave Tyson who are both Mountain Rescue Volunteers talked about what they do when they are working. They came into our playground with a mountain rescue vehicle and they had three activities for each class to do. The first activity was to learn about how to carry the stretcher, the second activity was to make up word to tell the other group through the radio to see if they could figure it out. This is the phonetic alphabet! The third activity was to look though all of the equipment in the Mountain Rescue workers bags!
It was great fun! My favourite part of the day was getting carried on the stretcher!!!
We got a new basketball net!!! It is orange and white and very high up meaning it is perfect for people who like a challenge. It is very cool and in my personal opinion it will be a great piece of equipment for the school.
Even though it is very exciting it is a bit sad because we’re getting rid of the old basketball net but in reality it doesn’t have a net, wait doesn’t that make it a basketball hoop not net? Still very sad yet really exciting.
Today the gardening group are busy picking up litter and giving the playground a good tidy up!
We were delighted for the sun to appear for Sports Day on Monday! We enjoyed a whole school game of kick ball, tug of war then lots of races! Thank you to all the parents who came along to support!
Well done to everyone who took part!
