The pupils thoroughly enjoyed their trip to New Lanark.
The following points have been shared by pupils:
- We all enjoyed the Annie McCleod ride because we got to learn about her life at New Lanark.
- The children got a choice to work or go to school at the age of 11.
- They had to address the female teachers as ‘Mam.’
- Kids used to get made to work and were hit by the cane/ ruler.
- There were ten people inside a bedroom sized house with one window and one room.
- Toys were usually made by them, like toys or trains.
