Kirkcolm Primary School

– what have we been up to?

Bikeability Pros

This week saw the final session of Bikeability for our P6/7’s. Pupils had a great time working with Mike and learned all about proper bike safety. This is a fantastic input for our pupils are a tad more rurally based so may depend on getting around via bike more than others! 🦺

Pupils developed skills in riding their bike, caring and looking after their bike and themselves and manoeuvring/riding safely through villages and roads, understanding signals and finally the rules of the road.  As a team they went a bike run out on the roads from Kirkcolm – and they covered over 5 miles together!

This has seemed to really inspire some bike riding in pupils and I have noticed a lot more bikes parked at the door! 🚲🚲🚲
