Primary 6 have been studying properties of 3D shapes with Miss Hunter. Working in twos’, pupils had to use their nets to construct a 3D shape. They then had to write how many faces, edges and vertices each shape had.

My World of Work – Driverless Cars in Primary 6
Primary 6 has recently been educated on a workshop through My World of Work. We worked in two’s to code a programme for a driverless car.
STEM in Primary 6
Primary 6 has been completing STEM challenges over the past few weeks. One of them is the marshmallow and spaghetti challnge.
The winner was the group who could build the tower which could stand without being supported.
Scooter Fun in Primary 6
Primary 6 have been having fun on Scooters. The scooters were provided by Sustrans.
Fairtrade in Primary 6
Primary 6 has been learning all about Fairtrade Fortnight. We learned all about the support that the organisation gives to farmer and workers across the world. Fairtrade helps over 1 million people worldwide.
We worked in two’s, using Digital Technologies to research foods and their journey to reach Australia. We looked at air miles. We completed a table on air miles and annotated a map showing the journey that food will take to reach it’s destination.
STEM in Primary 6
Primary 6 have been working on a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) in class. Our remit was:
Your task is to design and create a castle. To be successful in your challenge, you must meet the following criteria:

Your castle must have 4 turrets

Each turret must be at least 20 cm in height

Your castle must have a moveable drawbridge that can open and close

Your castle must have 4 windows, each measuring 2cm by 5cm
French in Primary 6
Primary 6 has been learning to write a description of a pet in French. They then swapped work with someone else in the class who then translated the writing back to English. Our success criteria was: I can write French descriptions of a pet for someone else to translate. The META skills that we used were: Focusing, Communicating, Collaborating and Leading.![]()

Maths in Primary 6
Primary 6 have been learning to play dominoes in maths using their times tables. We also practised dividing using dominoes.
Lego Build with Young Digital Leaders – Primary 6
Young Digital Leaders from Primary 7 have been teaching Primary 6 all about Lego Build. This is a programme that allows pupils to build lego and give instructions for the lego to move. We used lots of our META skills when working in two’s.
