We had great fun on scooters this week.

We had great fun on scooters this week.

Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 went for a walk round our local community to look at the houses that had been decorated for the Halloween competition taking part in Heathhall community.
We took clipboards and pencils so we could use our data handling skills to collect information on the decorations we could see. We used tally marks to count how many Halloween items we saw on our walk.
“I was keeping my eyes open for bats, I like bats” – Parker
“We went to my house, it was decorated for Halloween” – Harris Mc
” I liked the houses with giant spider webs” – Thea
” I used tally marks to count and remembered to put the squint line on to make a bundle of 5″ – Thora

What a great end to bike to school week. We saw 79 bikes parked outside our school today. Everyone enjoyed the first bike breakfast of this academic year before the start of our school day.

We wore bright clothes to school today to highlight how important it is to be seen when walking to and from school. The days are getting shorter and it is getting darker so we want drivers can see us.
Primary 1 have settled well into the routines of Heathhall school.

” I love going to school because I learn things.” ~ Thea
” I like playing with the lego, I like building.” ~ Alfie
“I like getting points for being kind.” ~ Finn
“I am happy at school, I get to play with my friends.” ~ Grace
“I like art, we made underpants.” ~ Poppy
What a busy day we had even though we were dressed for bedtime!
We read books, we listened to books, we completed an emoji book quiz, we went on a book scavenger hunt and watched a story on the big board. The highlight of the day was when Primary 7 joined us to make origami bookmarks.

We know we have the right to learn about our culture and language. We created artwork, learnt Scottish songs, Dances and rhymes. We made invitations to a showcase about our learning and gave them to our parents.

Grampy Rabbit got stuck at the top of an Icy Mountain. We needed to help him get back home. We had to design and create a model of a jetpack to help him. Our jet packs needed a control panel, straps and fuel tanks.
“I could make my jetpack better by putting a compass on it. That way you’d know where you are going.” Jensen
“It was fun making a jetpack, The Sellotape was a bit tricky, but Max helped me.” Jude
“I wish I could have made flames coming out of the fuel tanks to make it look more real.” Florence

Primary 1 enjoyed their Christmas party with P1/2. We played lots of games, had a snack and had fun with our friends.
“I won a prize.” Gregor
“I loved playing statues, my favourite was the fairy.” Zoe
