Childsmile

Good oral health is integral to health and wellbeing. Childsmile is a national programme funded by the Scottish Government which is designed to reduce oral health inequalities and helping to improve Scotland’s oral health among children. You can find out more about the Childsmile programme at: https://www.childsmile.nhs.scot

Everyday routines, such as toothbrushing and good oral health, feature as Curriculum For Excellence (CfE) experiences and outcomes. By embedding Childsmile into the curriculum, schools can play a pivotal role in fostering lifelong healthy habits for children. Childsmile provides schools with valuable resources and guidance to incorporate oral health education into the Curriculum. We have put together a guidance note which details how the Childsmile programme to be built into the curriculum: Oral Health Childsmile – Guidance Note.pdf
