Our topic in P3/4 is Vikings So far we have learnt that Vikings invaded countries including the UK. They travelled in long boats and lived in long houses.

Our topic this year so far has been all about Vikings 🗡️
So far we watched an episode about Vikings and then we drew a lot of Viking items and equipment in our topic books. This is our topic front cover.
We have really enjoyed our topic so far and really want to learn new and interesting things about Vikings like how they lived in the Viking times.

In Primary 3/4 our topic is: Vikings.
The first thing we did was our KWL. To see what we know and what we want to learn about.
Our World Topic P5-7
This year we recently started a new topic about our world. 🌍
It’s been very interesting so far we started naming and marking the 7 continents the 5 oceans and the countries inside those continents
Mrs Robertson asked us what we wanted to learn about and that we were going to start with the entire world then be more specific about Scotland and Dunscore. We’ve all had fun so far and really want to learn more like how different cultures live in ways that are different how we live in Scotland.
Whole School STEAM Afternoon
On Friday we had our first whole school STEAM Afternoon of the year. We were focusing on working as a team to make an accessible Paralympic podium.

Welcome Back
Welcome back and welcome to our new families joining our school. It is great to see our pupils return safe, happy and ready to learn. Our new pupils have already settled and are being well looked after by their older peers.

Class Organisation
The organisation of 3 class groups will run from Monday to Thursday, unless there is staff absence. Friday we will have 2 classes, P1-3 and P4-7.

Meet the Teacher – Tuesday 3rd September 3.10pm-4.10pm
This is an informal drop in session for you to meet your child’s teacher and find out what they will be doing in class.
Our school improvement priorities for 2024-2025 are to:
- Update and further develop our planning and progression pathways for numeracy and maths. Embed the last session’s progress on our literacy progression pathways, particularly writing, into our planning and assessment formats.
- Further develop and embed digital literacy learning and digital skills across our school.
- Continue to improve communication with parents and increase opportunities for positive parental involvement and engagement in the life and work of the school.

End of the Year 2023-2024
We would like to wish everyone a wonderful Summer Holiday. We will reopen to pupils on Wednesday 21st August 2024.
