Today we were visited by Roger Hill from the charity DH9 Foundation to donate a defibrillator to our school in partnership with the Wee Emma’s Defib Campaign. They have donated defibrillators to all primary school in Dumfries and the surrounding area, as well as all secondary school in Dumfries and Galloway.
On the 29th of November my school had family fun night. I had a great time and I also ran a stall. We also sang Scottish songs and in the end we raised over £500 pounds. Lots of people came. My stall raised £48 and I loved it.
3 Fridays ago, the whole school did a STEAM challenge for a roller coaster made out of artstraws, a paper cup, a ping-pong ball, sellotape, cardboard and scissors. (It won’t let me insert the image of it, sorry)
My group had finished our’s first so Me and Cameron made something out of the spare bits, meanwhile the rest of our group decided to colour in the base of the roller coaster.
In the end we all had a pretty good roller coaster, as well as a really good miniature village which Me and Cameron had made out of the spares.
I loved our little roller coaster, but now it is packed away, probably crushed by the other ones 🙁 .
Math week was a good, we did a lot of activities my favourite part was when we were doing the numbers up to 12 and the butterfly. I enjoyed that was a good day after my mum came to pick us up from school we showed her our numbers up to 12 and the butterfly it definitely was the best day of my life.
Today we hosted a Fair Trade Coffee Afternoon to celebrate Fair Trade Fortnight. Earlier this week we made cakes to sell and raise money to benefit Fair Trade farmers.
