Happiness in Nature by Albie

Happiness in Nature

The birds squawking, the moon waving

As nature goes to sleep

The sun says hello and the moon says goodbye

This is a new day

I heard the birds singing as the sun rose up

I went for a wonderful nature walk

I saw a chunky red squirrel, defending itself eating its nuts

The sun reflecting off the trees

I can smell a stinky skunk as it scurries in the leaves

Its bright eyes were looking at the reflecting water of the stream

As I looked closer, I could see tiny fish moving in the deep blue

I love nature, it’s really fun to explore

Rotary Photography Competition 2026

Our incredible P4-7 children were set a challenge! They were to take a photo inspired by the phrase ‘Happiness in Nature’!

In true Duncow style, they got hard at it and let their imaginations run wild, with incredible results!

Enjoy our gallery below. We await the results for our local round here in Dumfries!

Oh the anticipation . . .

What one is your favourite? (I just love them all!!)

Glasgow University K-Nex Challenge!

Harry and Matthew worked tirelessly to tackle the challenge set by Glasgow University as part of their STEM workshop!

The boys were tasked with creating a piece of equipment for the playground, including a working handle and being approx 25cm off the ground.

What a challenge, what skills were used and what fun! What a result – the ultimate Gladiator assault course!

Well done TEAM DUNCOW!
