We are very proud to let you know that we have achieved Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award.
What does this mean?
Our Silver action plan supported us to progress towards embedding children’s rights across the school’s ethos and practice.
To achieve Silver, one of the RRSA assessors carried out a virtual visit of our school to discuss and explore progress towards the Silver outcomes. In which we achieved this.
A Silver accreditation is valid for three years. Schools can often achieve Gold: Rights Respecting after a further 18 months to 3 years, or may choose to reaccredit at Silver: Rights Aware.
What we did to meet the Silver Descriptors for RRSA:
- Being ambassadors for the rights of others: developing as rights respecting citizens.
- Teaching and Learning about rights: for the whole school community through training, curriculum, assemblies, topics, focus days/weeks, displays.
- Teaching and Learning through rights: by modelling rights respecting language and attitudes, and making strategic decisions that involve students.
Praise Postcards
Students at the end of each term may receive a “Praise Postcard” in recognition of their hard-work throughout that specific term. See below for the criteria.
