The appointment of School, House and Sport Captains is a key part of our commitment to pupil leadership and participation. This process involves and values the contributions of the entire school community, ensuring that leadership is developed, recognised, and supported at all levels.
Pupils are at the heart of the process, taking part in nominations, presentations, voting, and leadership activities. Through these opportunities, they develop confidence, responsibility, communication skills, and a sense of service to others.
Teachers and support staff play an important role by identifying leadership potential, providing guidance and mentoring, and creating opportunities for captains to lead initiatives across the school. Their support helps pupils grow as positive role models and effective representatives of their peers.
Parents, carers, community partners and other stakeholders also contribute to the success of our Senior Captaincy Programme. Through encouragement, collaboration, and participation in school events and activities, they help strengthen the connection between the school and the wider community.
By involving pupils, staff, families, and community partners, the Senior Captaincy programme reflects our shared values and promotes a culture of inclusion, responsibility, and leadership. Together, we empower young people to make a meaningful contribution to school life and to develop the skills they need for the future.
