This week was a varied but equally as busy week at Gardening Club…
Some of the older group members cleaned, prepped and painted the raised beds to neaten them up as they hadn’t been painted in a while. Finlay, Kalen, Christy and Lucy did a super job and fortunately didn’t spread too much paint on themselves.
A small group were sitting under the shaded canopy giving some wooden animal decorations a white base coat. Next session will involve a more exciting lick of paint as some vibrant and exciting designs will be added…do you have any ideas for us?
The willow continued to be encouraged and weaved into interesting shapes and looks so much better than the wilderness it once was. A small group even started accessorising the weaves with flowers and interesting bits of nature.
The sunflowers seeds had went walkabouts so Logan, Josh and his mum sowed some alternative seeds for our garden. Josh and Logan were very gentle in pressing the seeds into the compost, well done boys!
Next week the group will sow their own sunflower for the sunflower display that will transform the boring fence at the back of the school. P3,4,5 are a step ahead with their sunflowers growing rapidly in their classroom each day. Check out the School blog for more photos!
