Book Bug at Leswalt

In celebration ofย  Book Week Scotland our P1โ€“3 families were invited into the school to discover the fantastic bags gifted to children by the Scottish Government and Scottish Book Trust.๐Ÿ“šAll wrapped in rainbow paper the ‘postman’ delivered these gifts to the school this afternoonย  and the boys and girls were left in suspense to find out what could be inside.. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“ฆ

Inside each bag there were between 2โ€“4 wonderful books, a fun activity booklet, and either a card game with maths resources or a magnetic whiteboard with numbers โ€“ all designed to make learning at home exciting and enjoyable. We also explored the online resources that go handโ€‘inโ€‘hand with the bags, giving families even more ways to support literacy and numeracy together.
The highlight of the day was, of course, handing out the bags in class. The childrenโ€™s faces lit up, before during and after the wrapping paper was removed
  • โœจ P2 pupils had lots of fun wit their new binoculars
  • โœจ P1 pupils practised sums on their magnetic boards
  • โœจ P3 pupils had a blast with their charade cards (these will come in handy next time Leswalt has a power cut I’m sure!)
A huge thankโ€‘you to all the parents and family members who joined us. If you couldnโ€™t make it, donโ€™t worry โ€“ your childโ€™s bag is waiting in their school bag. Take a peek and enjoy the fab resources together! ๐Ÿ™‚
