Our Harvest Assembly then focused on the vegetables with a fun sketch by Miss Carrot and Mrs Potato, played by Caitlin and Anna. The gardening club provided a short presentation before we sung a fun song about carrots and potatoes, with guitar accompaniement from Louie and Erin. The Primary 6 pupils then reminded us of the more serious side of countries whose harvest is not so abundant through a powerpoint presentation about Fairtrade. AS representative for the Mona Youth project, which provides aid in Malawi, was also present. The money raised from our harvest week was split between The Mona Youth Project and Fairtrade.
The school recently celebrated Harvest time with a special assembly. Last year’s gardening club harvested the vegetables which they had planted in the Spring. These were then chopped and prepared by the Eco councillors for making into soup, which the whole school enjoyed eating.
