Nursery (Monday 28th May): The RSPB will be helping us to create a wildlife garden.

On Monday 28th May, a field teacher from the RSPB will be in Nursery to help us to create a wildlife garden to attract insects and birds.  We would be grateful if parents of Nursery children would consider bringing a plant on Monday for the new wildlife area. Please only bring plants on the list provided on the Nursery door and in the letter sent out this week. We look forward to a super day of gardening! Thank you, Mrs Mackenzie

P5M Chocathon!

On Wednesday 16th May P5M celebrated their Wonka topic with a Chocathon Extravaganza! In order that all the classes in school were aware of the occassion, posters were designed to publicise the event. Groups of children visited all the classes in the school to answer any questions children had concerning the big day. During active maths Mr MacFarlane’s class focused on money and weighing activities leading up to the event and previous work done creating recipes helped the children when making brownies, chocolate chip muffins, chocolate krispies and biscuits. P5M split into teams and had four stations in different areas throughout the school. They all had great fun serving their customers and ensuring correct change was given and appropriate monies were received. After the event P5M worked out how much profit they had made. They were thrilled when they discovered their total profit came to £79.80. Mr MacFarlane said “A truly rich experience was had by one and all.”

Gardening Club

The Primary 3 children are taking part in a gardening club again this year over a six week block. We are very grateful to Mrs Moffat, who has volunteered to come into school to help and to Mrs Mackenzie and Mr McMurtrie for helping to organise activities. The club began by planting potatoes in week 1. We look forward to seeing them grow and to harvesting them again for soup in the Autumn.
