Sports Day

On Tuesday 7th June the pupils of Creetown enjoyed taking part in Sports Day.

The sun was shining, and we all enjoyed having a picnic lunch outside. It was wonderful seeing all of the children taking part, trying their best, and cheering each other on.
Well done Kirkdale who won the Sports Day Trophy.
Here are a few photographs from the day.

Jubilee Art

To celebrate the Jubilee we have completed a school art project.

Each individual child has coloured in a piece of our Jubilee picture and it has been pieced together.

I am sure you will agree, it looks fantastic, and the children have done a super job!

Show and Tell

Recently we held our first Show and Tell assembly since COVID. All the boys and girls across the school were very excited about this! The children had super achievements to share with the rest of the school. Some children decided to show their fantastic art work, awards for Kickboxing, Highland Dancing and all the facts they had been learning about dinosaurs.

We cannot wait for our next Show and Tell Assembly!’

Topic Time

This week we have been learning about Democracy in Scotland as part of our new topic. We read through a PowerPoint, and then tested our knowledge by playing the Scottish Parliament Democracy board game!

Chinese New Year!

This week we celebrated Chinese New Year by having a special lunch in the hall. Afterwards we learned about the Chinese Lantern Festival then used our research skills to find out more information about Chinese New Year. We found out lots of interesting new facts!

Scottish Art!

Recently P5-7 have been creating some Scottish art in the run up to Burns Night. We created our own tartan then painted silhouettes to go on top to make some very bonnie pictures!

We have also been looking at colour palettes and created design backgrounds for a Scottish product based on the products colour palette. We had to make 4 different backgrounds, and they have turned out very effective. Well done P5-7!

Christmas Literacy

In grammar we have been focussing on adverbs. P5-7 had to hunt around the room to find the Christmas sentence and make it more interesting by adding an adverbs. Everyone produced fantastic sentences – well done!

Spelling Fun!

This week for spelling P5-7 have been creating their own spelling board games.

There has been many wonderful ideas discussed, and some great board games produced!

This week Primary 5-7 have been busy taking part in some festive talking and listening activities with Mrs McClymont. The children were given the challenge to make their own Elf Juice. They had to accurately measure out and add the different ingredients to their bottle, then design a label along with a catchy slogan to advertise their Elf Juice. Finally the children presented their juice to the class.
