Snow Day Activities

Hello P6/7,

Hope you are all enjoying the snow! Make sure and keep wrapped up if you are outside and keep yourself cosy with some lovely hot chocolate!

Since you won’t be in school tomorrow here are a few ideas to keep you busy:

– Read your favourite book at home and tell an adult about what is happening in the story.

– Can you write a short story about a winter that never ends?

– Go outside and continue this poem:

I can see…

I can feel…

I can taste…

I can hear…

I can smell…

– Use sumdog to keep your maths skills sharp.

– Remember to learn your times tables for when we get back to our outdoor learning in numeracy.

– See if you can measure snowfall by using a ruler and a record sheet telling me how long the snow falls for and the height of the snow. Can you record your results on a graph?

– Throw a snowball and measure in non standard units (e.g. footsteps) how far you could throw it. I managed 15 foot steps. See if you can beat me;)

– The ‘Beast from the East’ has come from Siberia. Research 5 facts about Siberia.

– With a parent, help clear an elderly neighbours path.

– Can you help complete chores around the house?

Enjoy your long (and very chilly) weekend everyone. Nae sure to keep warm and stay safe.

I’ll see you all on Monday

Mr Albayati 🙂
