Primary 7 attended an athletics festival held at Menzieshill Community Centre and took part in various events. Well done to everyone for taking part!
Primary 7 have been working with their buddies in Primary 1 to read the books shortlisted for this year’s BookBug event and working on different activities related to the books in preparation for the BookBug event.
Primary 7 have been learning the basics of badminton this term and have shown enthusiasm in every lesson! Each week we have focused on a different skill and finish up with a rally tournament, which can get very competitive!
Today was the Primary 7’s last workshop with the Peer Educators from St John’s. The pupils had a discussion with their Peer Educators about their own experiences when they moved to high school and the P7’s had the opportunity to ask questions. The session also focused on ways of managing feelings in a variety of situations.
Primary 7 have thoroughly enjoyed the Peer Education Programme and look forward to seeing the Peer Educators when they move up to high school next year!
Primary 7 welcomed the Peer Educators back this week and the focus of this workshop was ‘Digital Footprint’. The class worked with their Peer Educator and explored different ways people might communicate and interact online. They discussed what is appropriate to share and what should be kept private. They enjoyed playing Jenga which involved answering questions related to e-safety.
Congratulations to Luca who took part in a boxing match last weekend and received a trophy which he brought into class to share with us. He also had a medal from a previous tournament, well done Luca!
Primary 7 are conducting a self-directed project this term and they each have a country to research. One of the homework challenges this term was to build a landmark from the country they are researching. Nyah is researching France and is the first to bring in her amazing design of the Eiffel Tower, well done Nyah!!
Primary 7 are taking part in the ‘Healthy Transitions’ workshops which are lead by pupils of St John’s High School. The programme runs for 4 weeks and the second year pupils will visit the P7 class and lead various activities and discussions exploring issues such as bullying, rights and responsibilities and transition to secondary school.
Well done to Taylor and Daniel for their recent competition wins! Taylor was representing St Ninian’s at a swimming gala and Daniel was taking part in a Karate competition, well done to both of you!
