Every Friday as part of our Get Spelling programme, the Primary 7’s take part in Team Teach and this is proving to be a very successful tool for the children to improve their spelling and share strategies with their classmates. Connie and Riley were particularly proud of themselves scoring 5 out of 5, well done!
Primary 7 – Medal Winner
Huge congratulations to Taylor who was extremely successful at her swimming competition last weekend, winning 4 medals and a trophy for Best Girl! What an achievement, well done Taylor!
Primary 7 – Outdoor Learning
Primary 7 worked with their Primary 1 buddies during outdoor learning on Friday and created some 3D shapes with sticks and playdough. They walked around the school grounds to spot some shapes then collected sticks and twigs and used these to build the shapes.
Primary 7 – Literacy
Primary 7 are enjoying the new literacy programme, Get Spelling and on Friday took part in an activity called ‘Team Teach’. They each took turns at being the team leader and worked together to review and spell words.
Primary 7 – Victorian Classroom
Primary 7 visited the Victorian classroom at Ancrum Rd Primary on Thursday morning. This was a fantastic opportunity as the class were able to experience what school-life was like for Victorian children.
Primary 7 – IDL
This afternoon Primary 7 were learning what school was like for Victorian children, they experienced a nature drawing lesson and drew with chalk. Tomorrow we will visit the Victorian classroom at Ancrum Road Primary School and are looking forward to the experience!
Primary 7 – Pony Visit
This week Primary 7 had their time at the pony therapy this week, they all thoroughly enjoyed this experience and hope to get the chance to do it again.
Primary 7 – Outdoor Art
Primary 7 created some fantastic art during outdoor learning, they worked in groups and used whatever materials they could find, some groups created a rainbow of rubbish and helped to tidy the playground at the same time.
Primary 7 – Chi-Kung
Primary 7 took part in a Chi-Kung workshop on Thursday. Chi-Kung is a gentle Chinese exercise that helps to improve health, increase energy, improve balance, reduce stress and boost the immune system. The class enjoyed the exercises and Gordon that delivered the workshop was fantastic! We will use some of the exercises he showed us in the classroom alongside our mindfulness programme.
Primary 7 – Josh Fundraiser
Josh is being very brave and having his head shaved to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Ninewells Hospital. If anyone in the class would like to donate some money to this fantastic cause, here is the link to Josh’s fundraising page:
