During buddy time last week, the Primary 7’s created obstacle courses for their P1 buddies. The Primary 1’s were fantastic and listened to their buddies explaining what to do and how to be safe when using the equipment.

Over the next few weeks, Primary 7 will have the opportunity to take part in a series of drama lessons delivered by a drama teacher from St John’s, Mr Mordente. The class have had 2 sessions so far and have thoroughly enjoyed them and we are looking forward to visiting the drama department in May.
As part of our class literacy this term we are developing our talking and listening skills through the use of a resource called Voice 21. We are taking on different discussion roles and will be working on this throughout this term, this will develop our communication skills and help us to become even more confident when speaking in a group or in front of the class.
In numeracy this week we have been revising algebra and working together to solve equations. We usually begin our numeracy lessons with some mental games and then work in groups to play the Countdown Target game before beginning the lesson.
Countdown has proven popular in P7 and we enjoy trying to reach the target before anyone else in our group! Here is a link to the online version which can be played at home:

Primary 7 spent some time catching up with their P1 buddies and finding out how their holidays were. Primary 7 also spent time helping the P1’s with some literacy tasks, they talked about what they did during the holidays and listened to their buddies reading some of the books they have been working on during literacy.
