Literacy

  1. With your 6 RWI words, find the definition and a synonym for each word.
  2. Continue carrying out research on the layers of Earth.  This is allowing you to access reading and get better at note taking.  Gather your notes together!

Morning P6! Hope you are all keeping well🤩

Literacy

  1. Writing plan… You can use your simile work in this plan to up level your writing.

LI – To write a scary and mysterious story.

SC- Remember to include –

  1. Character and setting description.
  2. Start, middle and end. (Paragraphs)
  3. Short sentences -creating suspense.
  4. Figurative language. (similes)

Here is a suggestion for your writing plan ..

  1. Character (who is in the story, tell the reader about them)
  2. Setting (where is your story taking place? You might want to use the haunted house or abandoned carnival from previous posts)
  3. Problem (Something goes wrong!!)
  4. Resolution (Problem is solved)

Feel free to draw a picture of your character and setting, then describe them.  Use your adjective word bank to help you.

Maths

  1. Sumdog Challenge, try and earn as many points as possible!

ICT

  • Continue researching layers of the Earth.

Remember do what you can 😃 If you feel like you are struggling to complete all the work on the blog do not worry.  As long as you’re keeping safe and healthy, that’s all that matters! 💜

  2. Can you create a word bank with vocabulary that you would use in a scary story? I will give you three words to start you off… chilling, eerie and terrifying.  Write as many as you can.
  3. Continue researching layers of the Earth.  Remember to record your notes.

Good morning Primary 6!  Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Literacy 

  1.  Get an adult or older sibling at home to pick you 6 new RWI words. Test your spelling with those words.  Any incorrect words choose a spelling task from your spelling grid worksheet.😃
  2. Can you find the similes in these song lyrics?  What do you think this use of figurative language suggests?

3. Can you now describe the image below using powerful adjectives and similes?

These descriptions will be useful for your writing plan this week.

Maths

Circles … you are going to make a fraction map with the fraction 3/5.  Below is a picture of how this looks with a different fraction.  This is a great way to help you visualise the fraction and gain a better understanding.
