As part of our homework task last week, we were to make and create a Christmas tree decoration for the class tree. Mrs Brankin was so impressed with the effort and creativity! Also the tree looks beautiful.
we have been learning how to keep safe in the dark. We experimented what it’s like to wear dark clothes in the dark then bright vests. We all agreed it’s much safer to been seen at night. We then learnt how to put someone into the recovery position and what to do in an amergancy. Look for more photos in our SOS folders next week.
During our time in ICT today we used our skills to create our own beautiful tartans to celebrate St.Andrews day. We each designed our tartan then printed the tartan and made them into little kilts. We think they look great!
We enjoyed taking part in Fit Thursday. We had fun playing tennis, cricket and football. We loved playing Bocha and with the Parachute as well as Mrs Brankin teaching us some body combat moves! An energetic, fun, fit and busy day enjoyed by all!
Justine from the SSPCA visited the class this week to discuss the importance of caring for Pets and what the SSPCA do. The talk was really interesting and we asked lots of questions.
We have been inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting. We looked at each section of his work and tried to recreate his beautiful work. We build up the picture by drawing, the using oil pastels then finally a watercolour wash. We talked about what we would see in the night sky.
Today as part of the Dundee Fit 15, we danced for 15minutes to Just Dance. The class all participated and even sang along to the tunes. Each day we will be raising our heart rates for 15 minutes by getting involved in a physical activity. This week we have walked and ran in the playground. Over the next few weeks we will try lots of different activities and record how they made us feel.
