We have been busy using our time reading skills in various games and challenges. This week we have been working out how counting in 5s can make time telling quicker on an analogue clock. We challenged a partner to show us some of these ‘minutes past’ times on their clock and played corners, reading the digital time on the big screen and choosing the correct clock. We’ve also had fun playing time lotto and bingo games.

Primary 3 Roots of Empathy
We had a visit from baby Georgia and her mum, Vikki. We sang a welcome song and Georgia smiled and gurgled at us! We asked Vicki questions about Georgia’s development. She played with some toys and then she had some tummy time. Then Georgia was weighed and measured so we can see next time how much she has grown.
Primary 3 Numeracy skills
We have been practising explaining, drawing and displaying our mental maths strategies using our maths working wall and maths resources. Being able to explain how we reach an answer to a calculation is an important skill.
Primary 3 Literacy event
Thank you to those who attended our Literacy event. We worked our way round literacy stations, practising a different skill.
Primary 3 Fit Thursday
Today we developed our skills in football, dance, cricket and judo as well as playing playground games and botcha. It was a busy fun day!
Primary 3 Autumn walk and talk
We went out on a blustery day to gather autumn leaves and other things from nature and to notice seasonal change to help us with our IDL, literacy and art work. We took a partner on a walk and talk. We produced a poster of key words to help us with writing and we tried to identify some of the beautiful leaves, seeds and nuts we found, discussing dispersal methods.
Primary 3 -Numeracy games
We have been practising our adding and subtracting of 10s using our fabulous new 100 square rug. We also have been playing bingo, Buzz, lotto, hoopla and tin can alley to develop our numeracy skills in active ways. The counting hand jive keeps us on our…..toes!
