So many activities and so much fun.
One activity was to make a sheep puppet to tell the story we had heard.
Now it was time to investigate which materials float and which sink.
Once we had found out which materials float and which ones sink, we experimented with putting a material which usually sinks on top of a material that floats. We were amazed with the results.
In today’s football lesson we practised shooting , to add to the other football skills we have been practising: dribbling and passing.
The yellow group enjoyed our comprehension day today. Our book is “A sweet corn salad” and what better way to show our understanding of the instructions than to actually make the salad. We took turns reading the instructions and then following them to create a yummy salad.
Today the squares used the number tracks to record the 5 times tables.
Using the 100 square helped them solve some sums.
Then they practised their times tables with a lotto game.
Meanwhile the triangles group were making pictures with the 10 rods and recording a sum to show the value of their design.
The circles group worked hard with their taking away and practised their counting by playing counting games on the laptops.
There’s a lot going on in p2 in our numeracy lessons.
In today’s listening activity we had to identify the sound our hidden friend was making. We listened carefully and then wrote down the sound we heard. Our friend appeared from their hiding place to tell us we were right.
Today we investigated how chocolate and butter change form. They melt and then solidify again.
We found out in a really yummy experiment when Mrs Jones helped us make crispie cakes.
It was great fun finding out what happened when hot air touched a cold surface.
Now we know that water + cold = ice, water + heat = steam.
Ice + heat = water. Steam + cold = water.
Today we recorded our 5times tables using Numicon.
