Our first session this term playing with the toys from the pod was very successful. What fun w,e had using our imaginations.

Primary 2 – Term 2 – Week 1
Welcome back everyone!
We have enjoyed playing a new literacy game.
We needed to find lower case letters hidden in the sand and match them to their corresponding capital letter.
We also played more familiar games.
We enjoyed Kodaly with Mr McLean, where we practised singing and clapping different rhythms.
This term we will be exploring a number of festivals and learning about what we celebrate, why and how. We discovered that dancing is often a part of a celebration.
We will be learning a number of Scottish dances too.
In numeracy some children practised their counting skills.
Other children learned about how we can use beads to represent numbers. They had fun challenging their partner to make a number or guess the number they had made. Then it was time to use beads when adding numbers together.
We all used the sticks to count the beat of 8, which helped our counting, coordination and rhythm. We counted in time to the tune of the Scottish dance we learned later in the afternoon.
Primary 2 -Fit Thursday
What fun we had exercising to music, playing football, bowling and riding scooters as well as joining in a run.
Primary 2 – Food journey
We rounded off our learning about where food comes from by making a picture of a farm, adding animals, trees, plants and even a hive. We then stuck photos of foods indicating where they had started their journey.
Primary 2- Alien words
In today’s literacy lesson we made alien words.
Some of us read them in alien voices!
Primary 2- Farm visit
We added to our learning about the journey food makes by visiting Dalmore farm today.
Primary 2 – outdoor learning groups
Some of p2 joined with their group members to make a water wheel today. Just one of the fun learning activities we enjoy on Fridays.
We learned a lot about problem solving, teamwork, used fine motor skills, maths and creativity.
Primary 2 – Enjoying the sun
We like to enjoy some playing time with our friends and it was so sunny that we took some toys outside.
Primary 2 – The story of milk
We played a guessing game in which we had to try and work out what was the same about all these foods.
We learned that they were all made with milk.
Next we  made butter by shaking some cream until it turned into butter.
We also made a yummy pudding with milk.

We have had good fun practising throwing and rolling balls. This week we used these skills at different stations in the gym hall, before playing dodge ball,
