What a busy time we have had preparing for Christmas – the concert, consolidating our learning from the term, working with Miss Melton and making cards and decorations.
I wish everyone a good break from school and a visit from Santa.😀

Thank you Aliya for these lovely decorations. They look great on our tree.
Well done on winning medals for great gymnastics!
The circles group practised counting as they added a set number of gifts to a Christmas stocking.
Then they solved a sum by adding decorations to a tree.
Santa’s workshop opened for us to make presents for P2.The elves received letters written by their friends telling Santa they had been good.
We completed Christmas jigsaws.
We made Christmas cookies.
Some children even put on a puppet show of the Christmas story.
Others wrote Christmas messages in cards they had made.
Miss Melton showed a group of children how to make paper snowflakes.
Today Mr McLean brought some “treasure” for us to use to accompany our singing.
We were very energetic and very noisy!
Today our numeracy followed a Christmas theme.
The circles practised their counting by adding a specific number of decorations to Christmas trees.
The triangles followed an activity similar to one undertaken in p1 and made chains to illustrate the teen numbers and how they are made up.
Finally the squares group solved word problems using their knowledge of addition, subtraction and tens and ones.
Boys and girls, there are many games with a Christmas theme which look like great fun and will help us with our learning. Please choose a game to match the learning level you are working at in class.https://www.topmarks.co.uk/christmas/ChristmasGames.aspx
There are maths games, puzzles and even music activities. Enjoy!!
P1, P2 and P3 have a Christmas tree in our infant corridor.
We are having great fun decorating it and if your child would like to add a homemade decoration, these decorations would be most welcome.
We realise that this a very busy time of year and of course this is purely an optional activity.
Many thanks again
Mrs Taylor
