Pirate Pete

Pirate Pete has been leaving letters for us in our classroom each day. We don’t know what Pirate Pete looks like but he sends George the Pig through a tiny door every morning to watch us working and George reports back to him every night. We have had a new challenge every day and we try our hardest to let Pirate Pete know that we are enjoying his challenges.

We made Jellyfish

Our IDL work this term has the theme of Under the Sea.

At the beginning of term, we used tissue paper, plastic cups and googly eyes to make jellyfish.

We tore strips of tissue paper (this was tricky), then glued them to the inside of the plastic cup. We then chose some googly eyes and stuck them to the cups. We think they are great.

Dressing Up

The pink Read Write Inc. group are reading the book ‘The Dressing Up Box’ at the moment and we have been trying out dressing up in school for ourselves.

Dressing up will help us to understand the characters in the book and this will help us to write about them. We had such a great time doing this.

Can you guess who is underneath the costumes? Some are easier to guess than others!

Numeracy and Maths Fun!

We have been learning about doubles this term. We have learned lots of different strategies to help us to work out doubles to 10 and 20.

Here we are trying out some of the strategies in our maths stations. We all have a favourite way but learning lots of alternative solutions to problems means that we will be able to pick the one that fits our learning style.

We definitely had most fun with the pom poms and hula hoops though!
