Spring has sprung! 🐣🌼

In Primary 3 we spent the day looking at the context of Spring. We firstly went on a spring walk around the school grounds. Next we then worked in groups to mind-map ideas about Spring. We scaffolded the learning by road aging our ideas around the class. We then used all the ideas to create Spring poems. Finally we painted beautiful Spring fields blossoming with daffodils. The day left us feeling happy! 🌼

Literacy and Langauge

This literacy and language group are working on a unit about Fairtales.  The having been reading the story of Beauty and the Beast.  They are now working on writing their own fairtales and today they used a story maker game to decide on characters and settings to use in their stories. Their stories will also use special language such as happily ever after and once upon a time. I am really looking forward to reading their final stories. 📚

Sportsmanship in P3 ⚽️

Today during number football in PE as well as developing our ball skills, I witnessed some fantastic and humbling sportsmanship. We were playing number football and the team were shouting on their teammates but when the team won, they clapped for the other team and also the losing team clapped for the winning team. The children were encouraging each other and giving their opponents high fives! Was a lovely game to watch!

BFG animation in p4/5

This term we have linked literacy and ICT by creating story animations based on the BFG. We have been working on these stories over a few weeks and with our learning partner have created 2 animations to tell the story from 2 of the scenes. Putting all the animations together as a class we can watch the animation of the story as a whole.  Our skills in animation have greatly improved and this is something which we have all enjoyed working on.
